French roast coffee is coffee beans that have been roasted in order to bring the beans natural oils to the surface. The preparation involved in making a good cup of French roast coffee isn't difficult, and can be mastered easily. The first thing you have to do is select a good quality, fresh roasted bean. You can buy fresh roasted beans ground up, or whole. The whole beans stay fresh longer than the ground ones, so it is recommended that you buy yourself a grinder and some whole beans. Next, you want to use the grinder to grind the beans to the desired consistency. Most grinders come with settings such as fine grind, medium grind or course grind. In general, coffee machines work the best using medium grind, but that's not always the case. We recommend the use of French press to brew your coffee. If you do, you go with a course grind instead of a medium grind. You also want to make sure that you clean your coffee pot and machine well, so no flavors from the previous coffee you roasted seep into your French roast coffee. It is also important to use the best water possible, many people use bottled water. After all, coffee is basically coffee beans and water, so you want to make sure both are of good quality. When preparing French roast coffee, the water used should be very hot. It should be as close to boiling as possible, and the grounds should be completely saturated, so that you get a full-bodied flavor. This is why we recommend a French press. Always serve the coffee fresh. You should never reheat your coffee. Much of the taste is lost, leaving you with a bad taste in your mouth. Coffee will lose its taste and aroma after about twenty minutes, so it's important to drink it right away if you wish to have the best possible cup of coffee. | |
