How to Brew Coffee in French  Press Brewer

Have you ever wondered how to brew coffee in a French press brewer? If so, below you will find a step-by-step guide to brewing the perfect cup of coffee in a French press.

Step 1: Preparation
The first thing you will need to do before you start is to ensure all your equipment is clean. This is to ensure that any coffee oils from a previous brew have been removed. You should also rinse your equipment well before use to ensure that there is no residue from your cleaning detergent.

Step 2: Boil
Before your begin grinding your beans you should boil your water. This will give the water enough time to cool to the correct temperature while you are grinding your beans. It will also prevent the water from scalding the coffee.

Step 3: Grind
For the best French press coffee it is important to use a high quality grinder. What you need is a grinder that will produce large grounds that are of equal size.

Step 4: Heap
When adding in your coffee, be generous. It will always be easier to dilute the coffee than to make it stronger. As simple guide to follow is 1 tablespoon per cup of coffee.

Step 5: Pour and Stir
The water that was boiled in step 2 should now be cooled to the perfect temperature. It is now time to pour the water into the coffee press. Be sure to cover all the coffee grounds and be careful not to overfill the coffee press. Once the water has been added, stir the coffee approximately five times to ensure that all the coffee grounds are wet. As you stir the coffee will rise to the top of the pot.

Step 6: Brew
The next step is to brew your coffee. Place the lid on and let the coffee steep for around 2 to 3 minutes.

Step 7: Press
Once the coffee has been brewed, the next step is to carefully plunge the press filter down through the coffee. This should be done slowly and steady. If carried out too quickly coffee grinds may escape and ruin your coffee.

Step 8: Serve
The final step is to pour your coffee into a pre-heated cup and enjoy.

By followed this simple eight step guide you are sure to have the perfect cup of coffee every time.
