Coffee Roasting Recipes

There are several ways you can flavor your coffee these days. Besides adding milk, cream and sugar to the finished product, you can now add other ingredients to the coffee beans themselves to enhance the flavors.

For instance, you probably already know that you can add flavored syrup to a cup of coffee but you can also it directly to the coffee beans for a more intense flavor. There are also plenty of other things you could do to add flavor to your coffee as well. You could also try natural flavoring. Roast and ground chicory root tastes great with a New Orleans style coffee.

To flavor the coffee, all you have to do is add these ingredients to the ground coffee beans themselves, and brew. They are natural, and don't cause as much build up in your coffee maker.

Cardamom is another great example of things routinely used to flavor coffee around the world.

Here is a small list of some of the things you can use to flavor your coffee grounds with.

. Vanilla extract
. Cinnamon
. Chicory
. Soy
. Pinon nuts
. Cocoa nibs
. Cocoa

Of course, there are several more. You can use almost any spice, although some do not lend themselves well to complimenting the taste of coffee. However, you may have some fun experimenting, and trying out new flavors.

While flavored coffee is becoming more and more popular, it's important to remember that you don't want to drown out the taste of the coffee bean itself. Ideally, what you want to do is compliment the flavor of the actual bean, and enhance it so that it's even more enjoyable to drink than it was.
