Banana Coffee Cake Recipe |
Most people enjoy a nice slice of banana cake, but a few adventurous souls have tried mixing banana cake with coffee cake. Surprisingly enough, banana coffee cake tastes great. If you're a person who likes to try out new things, or just enjoy the taste of coffee as well as bananas, here is a recipe you should try. Banana Coffee Cake . 1-¼ cups of flour . 1 cup of unsweetened cocoa powder . ¾ teaspoons of salt . 1 teaspoon of baking soda . 2 soft, mashed bananas . ½ cup of sour cream . ½ cup of softened butter . 1 cup of sugar . ½ cup of light brown sugar . 2 eggs . 1 tablespoon of espresso powder (or a substitute for espresso powder) . 1 teaspoon of vanilla Begin by preheating your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Next, grease a ten-inch Bundt pan. Next combine the flour, cocoa, baking soda and salt in a large mixing bowl. In another mixing bowl, combine the bananas and sour cream. In a third bowl, beat the butter and sugars together until they are fluffy. Next, take your eggs and mix them into the butter and sugar mixture, one at a time. The next step is to dissolve the espresso powder in about a teaspoon of water. Then, beat it along with the vanilla into the sugar mixture as well. Now, alternate between beating the banana mixture and the sugar mixture into the flour mixture. Continue until everything is beat into one smooth mixture. The final step is to pour the batter into the Bundt pan and cook for approximately 50 minutes. After it has finished baking, let the cake cool before removing from pan. For something a little extra special, serve with vanilla sauce or topped with whipped cream. | |
